Default asa tune

I just put my new cam in, and I was trying to debate whether the Crane/Vinci, Predator, or HPTuners would be best for me. The car doesn't like to idle, trans doesn't shift right, running really really rich, and surging. So if anyone running this cam or similar cam could chime in to what they used to tune, and how well it worked would be great. The specs are 226/236 .525/.525 100.

Go with HP or EFI Live, you can do alot more with them for a few more dollars. Both have a steep learning curve. I have Vinci and EFILive.

Stay away from the Diablo Predator, I know I have one. A waste of money. I even tryed there custom tunes, they have no idea what they are doing and sent my money back. They were the worst tunes. Bought EFILive and learned on my own. I have the Hot cam and it took me a few months but it runs so sweet now. Great lope at idle and no surging or stalling. Great power and I even get better milage then the stock cam. Good luck with yours.

Are you saying your LSA is 100? There is no way. That will never idle right.

if this is the end of your mods, then just get it tuned by somebody in your area, just ask on forums. if you keep modding/changing/tweaking things, or you just wanna learn about how this really works, go with EFI or HPT, both are good, you have access to the same stuff, boxes and buttons are different, but eventually you are changing the same paramters.

You would be wise to buy HPTuners and take some notes off of my tune on Horist's site with that cam.

For those of you that have HPTuners or EFILive is either one of them hard to learn how to use, im a newb at tuning. and is either one easier to use than the other or the same.

I have an ASA (the original GM tune that comes in the ASA PCM's) LS1edit file posted at http://www.ls1edit.com/filelib/

However, that probably won't help you if you're not using LS1edit. Obiously, it is setup for racing fuel and no exhaust at all. If I can copy any of the tables for you, let me know.

Dave F - I have your file converted to an EFILive file - let me know if you want a copy.

2000RedZ - Buy EFILive from Jes....he know as much, if not more, than most of the Gurus around here. He's extremely helpful and he knows the ASA inside- out.

Cheers,
joel
