As Ross so elequently put it: "More than a cup of coffee."

Seriously we have not put a price on it yet. Our aim is to keep it as close to the existing prices as possible. An upgrade option will be offered for existing FlashScan customers. The upgrade option will be as close to our existing upgrade prices as possible. We expect to have prices and licensing options available at SEMA/AAPEX.

Does the hand held have the same flash capabilities as the laptop version, or is is a condensed version? And when will you do a version for the 98's and what is the actual dimensions?

So does the V2 FlashScan include a blackbox with it too? I was going to send my EFI V6 to you guys and upgrade for the Commercial FlashScan. I need the blackbox so i can log the AF ratio in FlashScan.

Thanks

The handheld unit will continue to operate as a pass-through programmer the same way that FlashScan V1.2 currently works now. It is a replacement for FlashScan V1.2 (not a replacement for the PC editing software).

In addition to the pass-through operation, FlashScan V2 will also allow you to load multiple* tunes from your PC to the FlashScan unit. You can then select which tune you would like to flash into your vehicle at any time using just the handheld unit. So you can keep all your tunes in the FlashScan unit and update your PCM whenever and wherever you like.

*Multiple means as many as you can fit on the MMC memory. For example if you purchase a 128Mb card (about $50) you can store around 100 different tunes.

The first version of FlashScan does not allow calibration changes to be made using FlashScan V2. All changes will be made using the EFIlive Tuning Tool software running on a a PC or laptop. FlashScan is field upgradable which means when we add new features to FlashScan, you will be able to upgrade via an internet download.

Yes the 98's will be fully supported.

Dimensions are listed on this page: http://www.efilive.com/flashscan.html
140 x 100 x 23 mm (or 5.5 x 4.0 x 0.9 inches)
195 grams (or 0.43 lbs)

Paul

FlashScan V2 has everything that FlashScan V1.2 has and more.
Yes, it has black box logging. There are now no time restrictions, you can log for days if you want to.
It also has 4 analog inputs for wideband and other sensors.
It has 2 new 12V analog inputs for 12v sensors.
All analog inputs have their own ground pin so ground offsets issues will be a thing of the past.
It has 2 thermocouple inputs so you can measure temperature differences such as IAT temps before and after compression or before and after intercooling.

FlashScan does not come with any pre-programmed tunes or simple pre-set (Yes/No) adjustments. Although third parties (such as tuning shops) will be able to resell FlashScan complete with their own custom tuning pre-programmed into it).

What you want to accomplish will determine what and how much you need to know (or learn).
The same adjustments that can be made to a stock engine by most hendhelds can be applied using EFILive by someone with little or no tuning experience in a few minutes - but is that what you really want/need?

If you have modified your engine then you will need to know and understand how those modifications effect the performance of your engine and you will need to know how to alter the PCM to compensate for and take advantage of those changes.

Very nice.
Should i wait for the V2 or get the V1.2 and upgrade later. I mean if i get the commerical 1.2 FlashScan would the upgrade be just the difference in price between the two? So if V1.2 is $849 and the other one lets say $1049 that means i just upgrade for $200 only?
