Default V2.0.17 question???

Wasnt the new version suppose to be able to scan multiple vehicles? Say for instance I have 98 & 99 on my laptop. I thought it would be capable of scanning a 2001 or etc. Did I hear/read this or am I going crazy?

I believe that has always been true for HPTuners. The year restriction only has to do with tuning/modifying the PCM.

yup, it's always been like that and sounds like it always will... any vehicle they support tuning they support scanning (if you have an OBDII cavalier for example, it'll scan the OBDII generic stuff but not factory specific)

HPT has also indicated that when the Ford/Dodge stuff is released, you'll be able to scan them as well

^^^ are you trying to scan it or tune it?

The scanner should work on any OBDII GM vehicle... but the tuning portion of it will only work for the models you own licenses for

Yeah, I think he meant downloading the BIN file from a 2001, not going to work. But you will be able to see how it is running. If you want to modify the parameters using the Editor, you will need to purchase the required support.
