Trans reprograming

I just had my pcm programed for heads & cam,the shift points have been raised and so has the rev limiter.My problem is at 3/4 or full throttle,the rpms jump up just before the a4 shifts from 2nd to 3rd, and it sets me back in the seat.It feels like the tranny is slipping untill just before the shift.It did not do this till the programming was done.Is it a pcm problem or is my tranny fried? <img src="gr_sad.gif" border="0">

Can you better explain the problem? Does the car "nose over" between the shift? Does it hit the rev limiter and then shift? Is so these could be tuning related issues. If the tranny just "slips", it is probably a physical issue. Did MMS raise the line pressure for you? (make shifts firmer?).

Terry,i still have TM unfortunatly,but at full throttle it picks up speed just before the shift. It doesnt hit the limiter. I really dont know what was done besides shift points.When the car speeds up it makes me think the trans is slipping untill it speeds up.But it should be the other way around if the tranny is slipping.I will try to get a hold of Mike today and see if he has any ideas.

Let us know what you find out about this. Curious as my car, around 5700 rpm, feels like something just kicked in then shifts from 1-2. Sounds similar to your example.

Exactly,like extra power kicks in just before the shift.

Found out that the converter is probably locking up just before the shift.I will hook up a lock up switch and lock it up to make sure.

could be TM. my part throttle shifts SUCKED with TM and a converter. it like stalled up the car sorta-kinda jerked you forward. had it deleted and now if shifts normal again.
