Glad your problem is solved, but with a stock cam why are you having so many misfires...Maybe its time for new plugs?

Been following these threads quite closely,& I asked that same question a while back. From what I was told, the answer is that it's sensing false misfire of sorts when a lighter weight converter is swapped in place of the much heavier stock one. It's lessening the flywheel effect ( and therefore smoothing effect) of the heavy converter. With the lighter converter ,even the slightest deviation from a perfectly smooth running engine is picked up & shown as a misfire. This is sometimes made even worse by a lightweight pulley also.

the symptoms are when your going say 45-60 and all of a sudden the car feels like it slips into 3rd outta OD. Thats when the converter unlocked, then 2 mins after the converter would lock back up(feels like OD)
but man, does it ever feel so much better to drive now
