Horist..good find....I will check the resistor tonight and see if that is the problem.It sure sounds like the problem

Hopefully it is that resistor...I need to get this car up and running...I don't need my wife with her lead foot driving a Suburban with a big block

not sure why it would, there fairly cheap, might be worth a try. had a buddy that was having the same problem you are describing....vehicle would start run for a couple seconds, die. he would start it again...run for a couple seconds and die. this happened all of a sudden. he drove into town, turned it off to run into a store and when he came out it wouldn't start. i was thinking fuel related, but it turned out to be the cam positioning sensor.

ive seen the same problem with a bad ignition switch or messed up ignition wires

glad i was wrong...that is much easier to replace than the CMP sensor.

may wanna check with casper electronics too ... they make a bypass kit that's pretty plug in play...
