P0442 EVAP leak...need help fixin' it

Yeah, the cannister is in the rear of the car.
The EVAP purge solenoid is mounted on the
drivers' side of the intake and has a line
running to the front of the intake.
BTW I broke the fitting on the discharge
side of the purge solenoid and got no codes
in the 2 days before I could get another.
(probably leaned out the engine pretty
good, though).

If you still can't find a problem and the gas cap is known good, take it to a local mechanic shop and have them put a smoke machine on it. It will pressurize the evap system and blow the smoke out the leaks making them easy to spot/fix.

i had the same issue, i got a gas cap, still got the code, then i got a new purge valve and line and havent seen the code yet but it still may come up. its been happening to me ever since i cleaned the engine bay and i think i got water in that damn valve causing it to maybe stick sometimes, i dont know, it was 35 bucks to replace
