Your best path really is to cleanup and tune knock issues via the PCM calibration.
I have done this on several LSX engines using LS1edit and instead of lying to PCM ( trick) about knock to tune PCM so that real knock does not happen and false knock is mostly ignored.

Also, AFAIK, Ken Kelly does not have any authorized distributors for his product; all sales are through him. Before you sent this individual *any* money you should check with carputing.
