Default LS1 Powered Sand Rail Problem

Engine is a stock 99 Z28. Got it wired enough to start it today. Started right up and was doing what I thought was the idle re-learn. Never smoothed out. Tried reseting the PCM several times and it still won't idle. I can't even open the throttle without it stalling. No way to get high rpm. I've checked the TPS, fuel pressure at rail is 58-60#. IAT appears to be effective, but nothing works to get the rpm up. Wednesday, I will put my O-scope on the MAF sensor to see if there is any activity there. It appears to run rich at times during what idle it has. If I hold it open when I start it, it reves up then acts like it is starving for fuel. It is completely stock. Would not having the intake accordion attached cause this? Doesn't seem likely. Supposedly, all the un-needed sensors were deleted or turned off. I will play with it some more and I have a guy with a Tech II that can come look at what is happening. Pictures at: Ls1 Sandrail

Supposedly the LS1 PCM should use the MAP sensor as a backup incase the MAF is malfunctioning. You may try unplugging the MAF to see if it runs any different. I suspect it wont though. Do you have O2 sensors installed at all or not?

That was one of the first things I tried. I think I found the problem. No power to the MAF and remaining O2 sensors. DUH, must have clipped one too many wires. Too early(7:50AM)to try it just yet, but my guess is I found it.

I must say though.. +300rwhp on a 2000lbs full weight vehicle is waaay too much fun <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Looks like it'll be a real screamer!

Yeeeessssss!!!! Problem fixed. Car should weight aroung 1500#.

When I had the computer re-programmed, I asked for fan turn on of 170. Appears that it doesn't come on till about 210-220. Is 170 do-able or is 160 and 180 the only options? I paid $350 to have it re-programmed and am not happy that fan turn-on has not been changed.

where in phoenix are you located?
i'd send the pcm back to the tuner and tell them to fix the problem, just make sure it's only the fan setting. sometimes tuners "forget" to do things you asked for.

I'm on the west side of Phx near 83rd ave and Indian School. I will have it sent back in when I strip the rail for painting.

Another thing. I know the FSM sez to test the MAF, disconnect it and it will run on the MAP. Mine won't. Barely idles. Won't rev, just like before I found the problem of no power to the MAF. Wouldn't be the first time I found an error in the FSM.

The thing about duning is that it is 3 dimensional. Unlike drag and roundy-round, duning is also up and down. Also, there is virtually no speed limit. I have speed in my blood and duning satisifies the demand for it. An added benefit of this new long travel rail is occassional weightlessness.
