Default Can't connect to car's comm port...WTF?

We finished up my friends car last night, but could not upload the new program becasue there seems to be an issue with his comm port on the vehcle. Wiring checks out OK on a visual inspection. Here is what we checked:

- Visual check of wiring on vehicle comm port
- Hypertech would not recognize car either
- Laptop functions all checked out on another car; worked just fine to tune 3 different cars; no setting issues

Don't really know where to go fro here. Was able to start the car just fine. We turned back the FP to about 32psi since we had in 50-pound injectors and no programming. Car ran fine, but we can not tune it.

Any suggestions how to troubleshoot when the troubleshooting port isn't working? <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />

Thanks!

I had a similiar problem with my truck.

Here is the thread.

If that doesn't work then I say throw a carb on the car and forget the electronics. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Check the fuse. Also, should be power between pins 16 and 5 on the J1962 connector.
