all of these are at 6000rpm:

stock 01 with LM and lid did 35-36lb/min
my z06 cam'med car did 39lb/min
tr224 on stock headers did 35-36lb/min
same tr224 on LT's did 38lb/min
228/.575 mac mids did 41lb/min
F13 on LT's did 44lb/min
all forged huge cam 347, 90/90 with everything, 52lb/min
383 on ls6 intake did 63lb/min

and for fun: STS w/ T67Q on 4.5psi maxed out the MAF readings by 4800rpm

Here are my results....
Stock car with mods - 32-38lbs/min
Bolt on + cam = 38-41lbs/min
Head and Cam = 42-46lbs/min
Head and Cam + 90/90 = ~50lbs/min

Last night my new combo 346 H & C + 90/90 went almost 60lbs/min....59.xx

How drastic an effect would elevation have on these numbers?

Temperature has a huge effect on what the MAF sees as lbs/min.
Colder air is much heavier.
Knowing Lb/min values without knowing the air temp they were tested at doesn't mean a great deal.

every 11*F changes air density 1%
there's probably a similar metric for the altitude, here's your homework, Josh

I am refering to, if memory serves me correctly, is dynamic airflow. My MAF is long gone.

Last night we leaned on it alittle more and saw 59.4-59.7 lbs/min with almost 1700rpms left.

I'm very confused about the idea of giving credit to a number that wasn't actually measured. Can someone clear me up on this?

Same here...

But my bolt-on only car sees 40-41 lbs when it is in the 60s outside.

Wideband, open loop SD tuned.

How is the number derived?

it is derived, that's why it has no limits on final value, and that's a good thing
you might not believe it, but the engine does, so i would take its 'word' for the correctness of it.

So with the assumption that an engine is simply an airpump, the more air you take in the more horsepower you make? I think that there is going to be a correlation between Dynamic Air and HP.

There is definitely a correlation between this value and your engine's output, but I'd really like to know how it is derived.

I certainly wouldn't consider my car a freak by any means...and I certainly don't think my numbers mean I could run with a cammed or h/c car.

I had been thinking you guys were talking of actual measured values. My own opinion of a derived value like that is that it's pretty much worthless no matter how it was derived. A derived method would have to assume too many things and would be subject to error stacking like everything else that uses multiple inputs to derive something.
That's just me thinking. I shouldn't have posted here without knowing what you were talking about.
