Default LS1 Edit, opend a test file now it will not open mine!!

Well, I did not have my car then! But I got my LS1 edit. I wanted to check it out. So, I opened one file that I down loaded from the net. Now it will not open anything else! I do not think I can fine tune my car now! I think it is locked to that file or vin #! What can I do? Is formatting my PC the only way?

Thanks!

The only "lock" occurs when you PROGRAM a vehicle. If you connect up the cable, fire up LS1Prog, load a file, and then hit PROGRAM, it will ask you if you really want to permanently lock the cable to that vehicle. If you answer yes, then that's it, your cable is locked.

Now, about the editor. The editor does not lock itself to any specific file. The editor is distributed in different versions, though - 97-98, 99-00, 01-02, etc. And I have heard of people getting the incorrect version from Carputing (for example, ordering a 99-00 and receiving a 01-02, they will not be able to open their file). Email Carputing and they can take care of this situation.

HTH,

Andrew
