Default engine coolant level sensor?

my engine coolant level sensor has been lit ever since i got it, just wondering what sets it off because the coolant is full as possible

Dirty/bad sensor/connection. You can take it off and try cleaning it, or just unplug it and the light will stay off...or buy a new one.

Mine's doing the same thing, and if I recall, just unplugging it doesn't work. You'd have to put a jumper between the two terminal's, as the switch is only open when it's working properly, and your radiator is full.

Unplugging it will work. I had mine unplugged for about 6 months prior to replacing it.

I'm pretty sure you can just unplug it to make the light go off - give it a whirl. Can't check it on mine, don't have one.

My coolant level light came on about 3 months ago. The same day it came on I unplugged the sensor at the back of the radiator. The light has remained off ever since. FWIW, I have no intentions of ever replacing the sensor.

It is useful sometimes. I blew a headgasket and wouldn't have realized as quickly without it.
