A4 tranny tune
I really need help here with my tranny tune it is not shifting into 3rd gear under WOT without letting off the gas a little. I have had servo's installed and it did not fix it. I have been told by a couple tranny shops that it sounds like a tuning problem so I set Shift RPM at 6200 speed at 67mph and rev limiter at 6900 still hits. I really dont know what else to change. If there is someone that would be willing to look at my HPTuner bin file and maybe help me out I would really appreciate it. thanks for you time Phill

I seem to have the same problem but mine bounces off the rev limiter in about every gear, I was told my problem was because my tune is for 3.73 rear gears and I have 3.08's. This throws off the computer making it think I am going slower than I really am, not letting the car shift. I wont know for sure if this is the case untill I get my gears installed this spring.

Normal and Performance tables under WOT Shift Speed (mph)
and
Normal and Performance tables under WOT Shift RPM
I always update all 4 of these.
Also there is a box for WOT Shift Enable TPS %.
What value is in that box?
What TPS % is your pcm seeing when you are at wot?
For rev limiter, it's in 3 places on the same page:
- P/N rev limit (park/neutral)
- Bad vss limit
- Cutoff RPM Vs Gear
If you haven't gotten that last one taken care of, that could be part of the problem.

Are you scanning the car when it does this? Do you know what the reported TPS% or reported RPMS were?
The tach on the dash is slow compared to actual rpms.
If the tps is only showing 94%, that would put you in a different place in the table.
If the tranny is slipping, from fluid starvation, that will let it bounce off the limiter too.
A deeper tranny pan is supposed to help alleviate that.
