Default Ls1 Edit in Michigan are?

Could someone help locate a shop that is able to dyno tune and has Ls1 Edit? I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan and would love to know where my options are at. Thanks in advance.

I don't know of any on your side of the state, but on the east side, there are a few that do tunig, it all depends on what kind of tuning you want, there is a place called Automotive Performance Engineering 10 mins from me, or there is Detroit Speedworks, but there web page says only 99/00 cars, i'd call to check for sure though.

If all you need is basic adjustments, you should find a shop that can do benchtop programming, so you don't have to drive all the way to this side of the state, and could just send your PCM to them, Mach Performance, which is is on this side of the state, is buying LS1 Edit as we speak, and is going to do benchtop programming, as well as Road tuning/programming, with a Wide band O2. If you want, give Bill a call @ 586-468-6300, and tell him Jason sent you, i think he is running a Holiday season special from now till Jan 1st. And raod tuning with a wideband is actually better than tuning on a Dyno, even Matt will agree, that it is better to tune the car in real situations, than on a dyno in a room, yeah, you'll get the numbers, but your car isn't in the environment that you race in/drive in. But the dyno can get you close, but then you need to go out and drive the car, and log all of the things you changed, and monitor everything.

They've got an eddy current dyno, full loading capabilites. It will bring the car to it's knees if you want No dynojet will let me set boost on the rolls. Set it to hold the car at 70 MPH, hit WOT and turn the **** till i see the boost i want. Can't get any better for real road load simulation.

Find me a place I can make a 40 MPH to 150 MPH 4th gear WOT run, watch my boost, fuel pressure, and the wide band, not worry about traffic, cops, or **** in the road, and be able to pick up sub-audible detonation or misfire from the load cell trace on the dyno and i'll agree with you

Or let me hold set speed and load points to fill in a VE table for that matter.

Not knocking on Mach, they sponsor our car club but so do I.

Give greg a call. If you just need little things changed, he can bench flash the PCM. They already have LS1-edit

Thanks for the info ! I will look into Detroit Speedworks. I know a friend with a twin turbo mustang and i think he said that is 1 of the places he has gone(if i remember right)
Black02ss those #'s are very impressive!
ZYA-LTR,thanks for the info,if i get to the east side i will check it out. I need rear o2 sensor delete and raised rev limiter as well as shift points and any a/f ratio adjustments that help.
Thanks again guys.

I personally like the dyno tuning, my car runs awsome, we tuned it at speedworks, then took it out on the street, had the laptop still plugged in, car ran EXACTLY the same. Maybe it is just good tuning!.

FWIW, I used to tune on the road/interstate before I got my load bearing dyno. It is certainly possible to tune a car that way, but it takes longer, is less repeatable, is far less safe, and gives far less data to review before making adjustments. I think Matt and Joe pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Thanks to all that are sharing opinions and info,it's all good stuff to know(for me). Anyone want to hazard a guess to the ball park figure dyno tuning / bench tuning costs. I have been into cars for as long as i can remember and have been a professional auto technician for approx 10 years and this is the first time any project car has gone this route. I love the LS1 and the OBD2 computer with all it's capacities. Again thanks for sharing info. But what am i looking at as far as ballpark costs. Thanks ,Dave

My bad fella's. Matt, i didn't realize that Greg had that type of dyno, i was refering to a dynojet, like you said, that won't load the car to simulate real driving situations, therefore you would be tuning the car for situations that the car would never see. So in a diggerent sort of way, ya do agree with me Is that dyno the one that they got from Modern Musclecar? if it is, i didn't know that they had that kind at MM, With that being the case, after we tune the car at Mach's, i'll have Greg dyno it, instead of using APE's, it sounds like Greg's is a better setup. I'm probably just gonna buy my own LS1 Edit software, so i can play with the car, and might give Greg a call to see what he would charge to help me tweak my Calibration, after slapping the car on the Dyno, when the new motor is done.
