Service Engine Soon and Security Lights
A few months ago my SES light came on. I didn't have a scanner at that time. So I reset my PCM and it cleared the light. A few weeks later it came back on, and by then I had a scanning tool (EFILive), and found out that I had a prob. with my o2 sensors. Someone on the this forum told me that it was probably due to the fact that I wasn't letting the cats warm up enough, but instead gunning my car while it was still cold. So, since then I've warmed up the car for a few minutes before driving off and haven't seen the SES light again.
So, next time you get the SES light, take it to Autozone (if you don't have a scanner) and they'll let you know what code your car is throwing.
owner tried defeating the "skip shift"
in a way that's marginal? Like, just
pulled the connector w/o adding the
resistor dummy, or attached the dummy
in such a way that it's making an
intermittent open circuit? That's what
"shift solenoid" comment suggests to me....
