Tunercat tuning question Ok I just got my Tunercats software for my 97 formula. I was just wondering if there are any help files on the internet for this program, also maybe combinations to set up that have been proven to work, if that makes sense. Also I have been reading about using this free scan software in conjuctions to test certain sensors, just wondering if anyone knows more about this or can point in the direction of where to download it (i am assuming as the name suggests it is free, and a search of it brings up many free virus scaners). Thanks for all input.
After you read the file out of the pcm, it will appear thet the pcm and the car is dead. Won't start. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then everything will work. You will only have to do this after a read on 96-97 LT1 pcms. You can write repeatedly without having to do this. It helped having LSx tuning experience before I jumped into the 96-97 LT1s as things are done a little different on those. http://web.camaross.com/forums/ has a tuning forum that a lot of LT1 guys use. The Monodax forum doesn't get a lot of activity. There are no help files as yet that I'm aware of. I use both A-tap and the HP Tuners scanner on those cars. The HP Tuners scanner won't display some of the parameters that A-tap will.

Update TunerCat OBDII software and WinFlash to the latest revision. The software no longer causes a condition that requires a battery reset after a read on the 96/97 LT1 cars. You'll need a separate scanner solution. Check out AutoEnginuity's offering.
FreeScan is for OBDI vehicles. It was written by Andy Whittaker a long time ago.

If your looking for a free LT1 scanner there is "FreeScan". I have used it and it works real nice. You can also log your runs in .csv format so you can check them out in MS Excel. Just do a google search for "FreeScan LT1" and look for a link with Andy Whittaker. I think FreeScan is just for 94/95 LT1's though. You can also use TTS Datamaster in a free trial for 20 logged runs to see if you like it.
