WTF! LS1 edit won't connect?
it keeps cycling that message with no results.
i checked all the connectors and i also ran the EASE scanner just to make sure i don't have a problem with the under dash port and it worked , but the EDIT didn't??
and now my oil guage needle keeps twiching??
what is going on?? all the lights on the connector thingy are working ( except the second one from the left).
then i tried to edit again and the same problem came back!!
is there something wrong with the software?
well atleast the oil guage twitching stoped.
Make sure edit is trying the correct com port.

my PC froze 4 times , my tv remote is on the blink ( some buttons work and some don't), my VCR won't record, my car's pcm is fried, my trucks radiator cap was off and the radiator was 1/2 empty. what else can i say <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Anyhow, I tend to believe that your problem is being caused by something on the laptop. An infrared port can cause what you are seeing - it can connect, and then cause a disruption in communications partway through the download. I have been down that road myself. Disable the infrared port in the BIOS, make sure there are no drivers loaded on the laptop (Palm Hotsync, serial mouse, GPS interface, etc).
Good luck.

the laptop is dedicated to the car , so no other softwear is on it, plus none has been added for ages now.

The newer laptops seem to have this problem. I think it is related to the operating system.
Anyhoo, I use Win95 with a Com port and have NEVER had a problem connecting with my personal.
However, our new fangled laptop with every bell and whistle at the shop I have problems connecting with all the time.
so far ken at carputing has been very helpfull , i'm just waiting for a reply on monday.
