free data logging programs? (for LT1 OBD2)
Are there any free data logging programs out there? There used to be one but it was for OBD I cars and I was wondering if there are any out there for OBD II cars. Any info or links would be great, or if you could point me in the direction of a cheap scanner that would be good too. Thanks

None that I'm aware of... and if there were you can bet they won't read the GM Enhanced parameters like KR (Knock Retard)
EFI Live offers a scanner only option, Autotap also offers an inexpensive scanner (both support GM enhance params)
Proscan offers a cheap scanner but it doesn't support the GM enhanced parameters (if you can't log those why even bother logging... at least that's how I look at it)
however, the best long term bet is to get a full tuning suite as the big 2 now come with awesome scanners ontop of being able to tune.
see the sticky labeled:

oh ok... I think there is a free or relatively inexpensive LT1 scanner (though it may be OBD1 only).. I'll edit your title to see if we can get some of the more LT1 knowledgable guys in

Why dont you just get a OBD1 conversion its better for tuning anyways and www.ttsdatamaster.com has some good free software i use it on my 95 you can pay $90 and get the registered version that you can record your datalogs with the free download you are able to do 20 recorded runs but as far as live data its free its also a scanner and erases DTC codes and calculates 1/4 mile and hp really good program .Another benifit with the OBD1 deal is you can get www.tunercat.com for your tuning software only $100 alot cheaper if you would go the OBD2 route. Also you would need a cable www.mastach.com has them for $40 its works great cheapest ive seen around all the others are $100 or more
