Default Ease GM Enhanced scanner V2.5 shipping

Well now it was the turn for the Ease Personal GM enhanced scanner to be released as V 2.5.
Ease began shipping to those who sent in their upgrade forms this week.

Many of the features added to the Pro V2 were added to the Personal version, including the auto average of parameters in the Meters gauges, no formulas to screw around with no need for analyzing in a spreadsheet for the scanner will track and report the realtime value, min, max and average for any parameter you have in a meter.

Being Ease has been selected by some states as the scanner for smog shops must use, you can see the results of I/M 240 tests before going in for a smog test.

V2.5 also auto scales graphs during scan or playback, new hotkeys functions, and other features I tested for the Pro version, I tested again for the Personal version including a 3 hour non stop drive/ recording and connection to PCM was rock solid.

Scanner will remember the last car and parameter group settings used so that next time you call up the scanner it will default to the setting of last use so quick connect to PCM is just a click of 1 icon.

John, I´ll get my 422 iron block installed in Jan, so I think I should decide NOW what scanner I will use to scan the parameters you will need to get my car tuned.
We talked about that last time, but I´m sorry I cannot remember.

I have the old Autotap version, but need to use the Windows version as the DOS version doesn´t run on my Windows XP.
It seems to work OK, but I don´t know, as I´m no Pro on that, like you are.

I thought about buying EFI Live, as it seems to run perfect on Windows XP and also has some cool features.

But I´m pretty sure, though, that you recommended the ease scanner.

Could you please tell me the difference between EASE and EFI-LIVE?

You can take that off the forum and email me, if you want.

Thanks a lot in advance,
Michael

This is a total new version so its not an update, its an upgrade to newest version.

If you need a upgrade form, contact me and I can e-mail you one and all you need to do then is fax or e-mail it to Ease.

You'll like the auto averaging in Meters for you now just can look at them and know exactly what the LTFT average is without going into excel to find the answer.

<strong> How much is it and where do you buy it? I already have A-tap. Is this better? </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You can get the info directly off Ease's website at Ease Scanner Webpage

Being I use a scanner 7 days a week, it is a must the scanner work correctly EVERY time, give correct results and obtain as much data as possible in the shortest amount of time.

I have tested every major scanner, spent at least 6 months using each one and the Ease scanner is the best of them.
Being Ease's bread and butter is test tools of scanners, smog testing, and flash tools for GM their engineers know what a scanner must do and their relationship with GM gets them direct contact with GM engineering so they are not guessing or backward engineering their scanner design.

In your case the Personal GM enhanced OBD-II scanner is the way to go, it works on Win 95, 98, 2000, NT, ME and XP which also supports USB ports. You can use it on ANY GM car or light truck from 1995 to 2003.
Where other scanners make you do several steps to do what you want, Ease is all Icon driven and by clicking an Icon your functional.
It will do the EPA - O2 and I/M 240 tests ( Ease is used by smog shops), inform you of any DTCs and allow you to clear them out.
You can scan only ( other brands force you to also record thus slowing PC down and writing to hard drive when you only want to scan), record, record and view parameters in meter gauges that auto average the functions values or see them live in graphs.
Recordings are saved in special folders for each car so finding and replaying them is simple as selecting the car and the recording.
Replay can be done in graphs, meters or data formats.

The O2 tests would tell you if an O2 is lazy, or performing different then the other O2s and shows that in either data or graph forms.
There is a professional report function that can be saved to disk, or printed out and would include if the car passed or failed EPA tests.

You can scan or record over 50 parameters (PIDS) at the same time and either select PID factory groups ( like selecting trannie would show all PIDS for A4 trannie) or you can make your own user PID groups and then clicking on a group instantly loads them.
If you e-mail your recording to someone who owns Ease scanner they can import it and not only replay it but they can take the PIDS you made up and save them as a PID group so they can also use the PIDs you did.
Reports can also me e-mailed and the end user can review your report in detail.

It has a auto memory,if you use the Login function on sartup it will default to the last car it was hooked up to and the PIDs it was asigned to be using so that one icon click and your scanning.
Hot Keys make it easier to control scan or recording while driving and font sizes and colors can be changed to make it easier to see in sunlight or at night.

In over 2,000 PCM recordings with the Ease, not once has it lost connection to PCM or even paused if I turned engine off and later restarted scanner picked up where it left off.

Ease makes a Pro version that has even more features.
They also make a pockter PC and Palm Pilot versions.

Hope that helps you,
if you order from Ease's website, at bottom of order form it asks if you have a Rep,
if you click mark that and then enter TEAM ZR-1
I then would be your support for the scanner and also help you learn how to use it, and what to scan/record and can even send you 1 of my recordings so you can import and use the PIDs I use when doing PCM tuning.
Ease is a Tier 2 supplier for GM, Ford and Dodge, other scanner vendors are not.

I do NOT work for Ease, I just want to help others get the most out of a scanner that works the way it must since EPA has requirements as what a scanner must do and Ease complies, other brands do not and it makes my job easier when tuning peoples cars or trucks when they can send me valid PCM data from their scanner.

Hi John, I'm gonna email my form on Monday. I'm looking forward to using it this spring.

BTW, John is brilliant on all matters tuning, and he spent a lot of time with me (on the phone), insuring that I got the most out of the scanner. Great product too!

Thanks John.

Hey Team ZR-1,

I know you don't work for EASE but I was hoping you might be able to answer a question for me, since I could not find it on their site.

I will be purchasing the package for 5 bills that supports pretty much all the vehicles, do you know if it comes with the respective cables for all the vehicles?

Thanks brutha,

Yes,
for each OBD type or nameplate you buy from Ease it comes wiith the software, hardware interface and cables needed.

If as example you buy a Pro version for all model years of GM the same hardware interface is used but you get a 12 and 16 pins cables.
If the scanner also supports Ford you also get the correct cables, etc.

If you want me to be your support on using these Ease scanners, Ease knows if you order online at their website and enter Team ZR-1 as rep, they then know to send you to me for hands on help and I do not charge for it.

Pardon my stuipidity but why would you like "deathdealer" fork out 5 bills for a "read only" program when ya can get LS1 edit that gives you the same thing plus lets you "manipulate" your computer for the same cost or less?? Am I missing something here???

It allows you to make changes to the calibration tables in the PCM so you still need a tool to be able to see how the powerttain and all the sensors are functioning to make tuning decisions.

The scanner he is mentioning would allow him to scan all makes of cars not just GM OBD-II models.
