Mine's just a straight read from a stock 01 Z06. I don't know what that is. It looks like somebody has been manipulating it back and forth, because it has lost the original GM frequency parameters. I guess godspeed could shed some light on it.

Ah, I found it. That's a stock 99 F-body MAF table. Not the 85mm MAF at all. Somebody needs to get that title corrected quick.

yay, ok im sticking with that one..

it is a real bummer that in my hz range (98 computer) that my highest g/sec is 349.59

i almost feel like putting the stocker back in so i can meter back to 439.20 i'd really rather not have to rely on p.e. that early

John/David: I just got done talking with LS1speed and im probably gonna get the Z06 MAF from them. They also told me that for the calibrated MAF to leave the MAF table on my car the way it was, since the MAF was already calibrated for the 98-02LS1. That sound right??
they said for any tuning tweaks just to edit that on MAF just like you would the stock sensor(use the stock MAF table)

sure, thats the easy way to do it.. of course a factory meter does cost half as much and all you have to do is enter like 30 numbers into your edit file, then your done, but whichever way you want.

Kinda looks like you either entered the table wrong or didn't save the changes when finished.

Please help me understand this thread. The following statement raises a question that I need answered.

quote:
MIGHTYMOUSE
it is a real bummer that in my Hz range (98 computer) that my highest g/sec is 349.59

Is it not possible to change the frequency limits in the PCM? I do not yet have LS1Edit but I had gathered that the MAF table consists of a list of flow/frequency pairs and that both values of each pair could be altered. Mightymouse implies that the frequency values are fixed and that only the flow values can be edited; is this true?

Thanks, Gary

I think you've got it about right. The frequency is the axis of the table and is set in the PCM. That's why the newer PCM's are better for taking advantage of the bigger MAF sensor.

The 97-98 PCM MAF range:
1500 - 11250 Hz.

The 99-00 PCM MAF range:
1500 - 12000 Hz. (extended upper range)

The 01-02 PCM MAF range:
750 - 12000 Hz. (extended upper and LOWER range)

So I would think the 01 and newer PCM would be the best to use with the 85mm MAF sensor. Not only on the higher end, but also for idle sensitivity.

When I upgraded to the LS6 screened MAF (01), I simply plugged in the correct table, and everything worked perfect. Normal fuel trims, normal idle, great performance!

The problem with doing that is that the 97-98 PCM is unique and VERY different from the 99 and newer PCM's. The PCM pinout is completely different between the two series of PCM's.

I've converted 3 or 4 of them here in the shop, and although it works great when finished, completely re-pinning those two connectors is not a small undertaking!!

Speartech, MM – thanks for the information. I can now confidently proceed with my plan to install an LS6 MAF sensor in my Z28. This forum is invaluable.
