Im just curios here, but for those that really dont want to tweak the MAF with ported ends, why not just get the SLP 85MM sensor?? I mean it will flow more air which would be good for internal mods right? Would you still have to tune this?? would it be as hard as tuning ported ends??
ive alays been against those GMS sensors that cost 300bucks, but now they are only around 100bucks

im thinking about just tuning my ported ends, but i'd rather have a MAF thats tuned to flow more air
LTRIMS look like crap with the ported ends

IMO, it is much better for the car if you stick to either stock ends or a calibrated MAF rather than tuning for ported ends. I really don't think the extra airflow is needed much, since colonel didn't gain anything over stock ends with his 9 sec car.

or you can get a factory 01 ls6 maf from pace, sdpc for under 80 bux and i can send you the factory maf scale for that, and you just put it in edit.
of course there will always be slight adjustments to make since the car isn't stock.

Wheather you have a ported factory MAF or a GMAF, or SLP MAF, there will always be a bit of tuning the MAF table or base dial on a MAFT to get slightly negative LTFTs.
There will be more tuning needed for the ported MAF as opposed to the other MAFs because the others are supposed to be calibrated.
