Predator fans settings
on at 185 and (high speed) off at 190, on at 195.
Since doing this my ECT (engine coolant temp) is
a very steady 193-197F. Keeping the rad a bit
below thermostat setpoint makes the thermo be
the boss and keeps things pretty steady. Much
lower than this, and the fan is running a lot;
right here, it's only on after idling for a few
minutes and the high speed never hits (but is
there if needed, right at the setpoint).
Stock settings were up in the 210, 220 range -
so basically, the thermostat has no chance of
controlling engine temp except when you're
rolling pretty good.
Since I get no KR at max (Predator) spark there
seems to be no reason to go with a lower 'stat,
at least for my combo.
