In my case, 20. I don't have many hot restart's to contend with.

So the problem goes away when the car switches to closed loop?

no. OLSD. The problem goes away after all the additional airflow added for the cooler temperatures decays

I think so.

The lean start up is a long standing issue for SD tunes.

Yeah I ran into this when I was doing closed loop SD. I always thought it went away when the car went back into closed loop.

I believe that the problem that is not being solved is that we ( HPTuners running OLSD ) are experienceing a lean condition on WARM start. For me, it only occurs after the car has been running (up to operating temp) and then parked for a few minutes. When I restart the car, I see a lean condition while logging VE w/ the WB up to (below) 2K RPM for a few minutes. The values over 2K RPM are about normal but when you get down below 2K RPM, you see the lean values again. This issue seems to work itself out over the course of 3-5 min.

To eliminate heat soaked IAT, have you tried coming up to full temp, shutting down, popping the hood and putting a fan on the IAT?

Honestly, that is the least of my problems at this point. But I think that your method of alieviating heatsoak is a bit inconvinient

What are you talking about?

If you're trying to determin if a heat soaked IAT is your problem, what would you suggest as a more convenient way to find out?

I think it was a joke (there's a smiley). The way it was written could be taken to mean you use a fan as a permanent solution to heat soaked iat instead of just a way to find out.

Has anyone tried mounting the IAT in the maf replacement tube?

Also still not clear if the problem has the same symptoms with OLSD and regular SD tunes.

Yes, it was a joke. I have already determined that it is a heatsoak problem. I had the same problem w/ and w/o the stock 02 in SD. Its like it is using a different table that we do not have control over (atleast w/ HPT) for the first few minutes on the warm start. The IAT vs ECT bias seems to be helping the guys with the newer computers but on my 2bar SD 98 it doesn't seem to make any difference. Some have relocated the IAT into the EGR location on the top of the intake just behind the TB with good results but I am not at that point yet and don't feel like pulling the intake and drillng it. After I get all of my other stuff sorted out, I may find a Z06 MAF and go back down that road.

yes and it didnt do a thing

easy way to fix a heat soaked IAT and see what it does, put a resistor in the IAT connector that is equal to the temp outside. The lean condition is still slightly there but 95% of it goes away. That is the easiest way to see what the IAT does when heat soaked. Plus from what I have found, setting the BIAS to 1.0 means the computer is not dependant on the IAT, I can unplug mine when it is reading 140*F and it shoots to -40*F and the fueling does not change one bit. Pretty much just like putting a resistor in there, from what I have seen at least.
