The maf can take a half done ve table and get things close but when you take a dialed in SD tune and then calibrate the maf I feel things will be right then. I am tired of tuning my car 24/7 running in open loop because of temperature changes so I am putting the maf back on just like HumpinSS.
I agree 120% that most tuners do half *** tunes. We spend an average of 6-8 HOURS tuning the C5s and that includes WOT, Idle, mid range, ect. Once the cars are done they are damn near perfect.

Yeah it makes me when I hear of 45 minute tunes or shops having dyno tune days where they schedule in 8 people in a 10-12 hour day. As another poster said "One tune fits all" although the 45 minute tune might become more of a reality very shortly.

Because of the load dyno you shouldnt need more than an 1 hour to tune both SD and MAF, driving on the street all bets are off

Larry,
I agree, you can tune the VE table and the MAF table in 1-2 hours. Tweaking the idle transition tables is what usually takes me the longest.

Did you replace the MAF with any sort of tubing?

I honestly wouldn't expect much of a difference with the same induction setup i.e. different types of control but with the same induction configuration.

Yes that is correct, he had a straight 4 inch diameter piece of hose from the lid to the throttle body.

hey guys,

why is it then that the boys in Austrailia are having such good results with MAFLESS tunes down there. I mean they all run MAFLESS down there and they've been playing with these engines and computers longer than we have.

On my car I am considering running a 2 bar Map with a Speed Density tune.

The guys down under are not only reporting nice gains but also getting a lot better fuel economy too.

Noone is saying SD is bad here, just proving that MAF doesnt mean loss of power and response.
