Default does my car need a new tune

I bought my car from mark on the boards here. (98 camaro) He said it dyno'd 375 to the wheels. I also know it runs 11.3@120ish on a good day (1.49 60').

With the cam it has (G5x2) i have been told the dyno numbers should be a bit higher. It has stock heads. Other mods are ported t/b, ls6 intake, MAC headers, true dual exhaust with X pipe, no cats, 3.42 gears, stage two transmission, lid, and a "tune". yank 4400 converter

Tune was done by a local shop in the orland park area.

Im going to have to get the car retuned because the car doesnt like to idle good all the time. Idles very bad in reverse, and quits with the a/c on.

Im thinking about taking it to ls1 speed and see what they can do with it.

Before i do anything though i would just like a few other oppinions.

i don't know if it would run 11.3... automatics are pretty consistent at there max numbers for the track runs. Also, for stock heads and that cam, that sounds about right for dyno numbers. Grab you some LS6 heads and you will be around 410~420 at most. I know several guys running ls6 heads and the g5x2 or x3 cam pushing over 400+HP

idling has got to do with the IAC and the desired airflow versus what its getting, thats all your idle is. the guy that got it 'tuned' might have only gotten WOT and part throttle tuned and as most people do.....not worry about the idle and think that the car is supposed to surge and cut off like they do...wrong. get your actual airflow up with your desired airflow and i will gaurantee it will idle better. and don't forget to add more air for when the fans come on. hell if you need help try WS6FirebirdTA00 up here, he has done idle for his car and it runs perfect. he has f13 cam and AFR 205 heads

When he ran the 11.3 he was on slicks. Also the DA was at -750 I think he said.

Either way I’m more concerned about the whp

I was thinking about this last night.
How does...intake manifold, ported t/b, crank pulley, lid, headers, true dual exhaust, AND a cam only give me a 75 hp???

I was talking to other guys with pretty much the same mods as me but a much smaller cam (224/224) dynoing ~430

rwhp means nothing....
IF you get a/F correct for the track/street
it will be extremely rich on the dyno and will show low #'s

I wouldnt worry too much...
local guy I tuned was running 11.3x and was only 379 at the wheels...
tuned for A/F on the track

Forget about the whp..... That car is running STRONG with cam only!!

The idle tuning has nothing to do with the WOT tuning. You probably need to get your idle tuned. And this will have NO effect on you whp or 1/4 mile time.

98 heads suck for making power but that is really good track times. I would just retune the idle and buy some 2001up heads. It will make alot more power then.

Its my car he is talking about. I did the idle tuning and it was dyno tuned by Speed Inc. I'm not a "tuner" but used info I found here on editing the VE tables. The idle is set kinda low for that big cam (850 I think) could probably benifit from turning it up to 950 or so, I didn't because I like the lope at that speed. I never had a problem with the car dying out, except when using the a/c.

Eric you are very good at tuning, why don't you get HP Tuners? IMO You could tune everything to your liking.

As far as my track times and rwhp. The air was perfect that day and I was running the skinnys and had pass. seat out. The day I was running high 11s was stock wheels up front full weight in junk air (baro was 29.7).
