Do you have torque management disabled?

You're going to lose rpms naturally when you upshift....I'm not sure I understand why the 2000rpm drop is relevant to your question? But, to answer it anyways, desired shift times and base pressures are where you adjust shift times and firmness.

Swapping to a th350 or th400 transmission, or installing a fairly loose converter will increase your shift-recovery RPM.
Using a healthy nitrous shot also tends to increase shift recovery between 500 to 1000 RPM due to the increase in torque.

They're called gears. Unless you want to spend a $h!tload on a custom tranny/drivetrain, you'll have to live with it. Switching from 2.73's to 3.73's will help you get through those 2ooo rpms faster. So will more hp. What you're describing is not in the tune...it's mechanical.
