Default 'flip switch' setup for LS1s?

Hey I was reading about some of the 03/04 cobra guys who run a flip switch setup when they have nitrous so they can go from a blower tune to a n20 tune....just curious, is there anyway we can do that with our LS1s?

for example I have a TA with bolt ons and nitrous and i am planning a heads/cam package soon...i want a car that will be strong on and off the bottle. is it possible? maybe with the use of a maf translator?

thanks

i was just thinking about how you tune a nitrous car and i was talking to a friend about it..then i saw a thread about the flip switch in a local svt forum and it got me thinking.

i just dont want to have a car thats tuned for nitrous and is not running at full potential off the nitrous

The Ford PCM can use either a chip or a flash, so you can simply run a chip, with 4 settings on your 2003-4 cobra without issue and change between the 4 custom tunes, or your stock tune.

Or you can use a flash device and switch between tunes using this, with a simple 1 minute flash procedure.

This is one such benefit if your tuner sells you a flash tool with your tune, vs having to get another product to trick the pcm.

If you're wanting to retard your timing for spray and leave it at that, you can also wire up a resistor mod for your IAT. Flip a switch, energize a relay, run the signal through the resistor rather than the IAT, and voila... your timing is backed off.

at this time, a timing tuner is going to be your best bet.

EFI Live is working on a N2O custom OS that would have some alternate Timing and fuel tables go active when an external switch was introduced... but they are being slow to adapt it to the different GM PCMs over here.

Supposedly EFIlive is working on a tutorial right now for the OS. Should be out fairly soon.

Very cool.

Hopefully they will expand on that functionality so a performance button could be integrated for transmission tables as well. Of course that isn't a big priority, but it would still be nice to have.

Here's some info
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...highlight=tune

about a switchable tune for running dry nitrous with OLSD mode.
It is applicable and similar to the IAT switcher mentioned earlier.

I thaught of this awhile back, I was looking at the traction control table and how it can retard the timing. I dont know if theres some way you could use that for nitrous. Flip on the TC and it retards the timing to what you want for nitrous.
I have no idea if it would work or not though....

This is correct. I am working on the tutorial as well as playing with the new OS. I haven't had a chance to mess with the N20 functionality, but it is VERY nice IMO. You will be able to run a Dry setup on SD with no issues. It will be very nice.

Here is another thread about it: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...light=tow+tune

Momentary ground to pin 71 Blue will switch between tunes. You have to have the PCM setup for it w/ EFILive.
