wideband question
alright I do not know much about this but here is the problem. I have 98 t/a ls1 a4 bolt ons hypertech, ran a shity 13.136 at the track sat and it used an awful lot of gas on the way there and home. my buddy hooked it up to a wideband and we made a run in third gear from 3000 rpm to redline he said it dipped to 10.9 but stayed steady at 11.0 he said 13.0 is optimal.know here is my question does 13.0 sound optimal, what is the best way to lean it out and should it hit 12's in the 1/4 when it is not running so rich. any and all input would be great guys I realy appreciate it.was thinking about tunercat anyone used it or know much about it

10.9 is WAY to rich if you are running just boltons. You are losign power running that rich. Thats about as rich as I go and I am spraying. You should get a tune using HPT, EFILive, or LS1Edit.
Its probably better that you just buy the software and learnt o tune yourself, its better because then you can tune for every new mod you get.

If you have someone with HPT, EFILive, or LLS1Edit, get them to reduce your PE table by 14% (multiply the table values by .86) and wideband it again. My guess is you'll notice a large improvement.
The ideal way to tune it, though, is to set the PE table values to the afr you want, tune in Speed Density mode to get your VE table accurate, then re-enable the MAF and tune that table. Assuming, of course, that you want to run a MAF again after experiencing the nirvana of SD.

If you can get your car to hook good enough to get a 1.8 60' time then a stock LS1 will probably hit 12's. If you have bolt ons like headers and a goof free flowing exhaust along with lid then 12's should be easy as long as you have a decent 60'.
My car has never stood out as being fast but it still managed a 8.20 in the 1/8 mi in mid 70's weather. That is around a 12.73

Ive used tunercats on an LT1. Yeah 10.9 is like AFR for like a boost car so your way rich. HP Tuners is by far more user friendly than tunercats.
