Hypertech vs. DiabloSport Predator
I just bought a 99 TA about 3 weeks ago and need to get a programmer to recalibrate the speedo and tach, but i also was wondering which programmer of the two do you guys think is better as far as increase in performance?? what are the pro's or con's of each??
thank you,
ryan

Without any hesitation, out of those two choices, Predator would be the better choice. You simply can not tune an engine with Hypertech, it is waste of money if you are planning to tweak your pcm.
However, if you have a laptop, HP Tuner would be the better investment.

Hypertech should be removed from your decision all together. The question should now be, Diablo or custom tuning software. That is the question, and which I'd say LS1Edit, HP Tuners rather then Diablo.
Peace,
Craig.

hp tuners/efi live, etc you can read about them in the pcm section. I would higly suggest a custom tune via mail order from a sponsor, or learning one of the custom tuning programs. There are infinite options in those, compared to a handheld tuner. You get more for your money and a more accurate tune given experience and pratice.
Take a look in the pcm section and read around, lots of helpful information is located in the stickies (threads at the top of each section highlighted in yellow).
Also the tach is accurate, just your speedo will be off from the gear change.

Thats way too much money for a programmer/tuner, at least for me. I'd mostly be using it to recalibrate the speedomter for the 4.10's, so the engine tuning would just be a side benefit, not the main reason to get it.

Listen to Brandon.
Get something that can do real tuning and will grow with you as you get more modifcations in the future.
LS1 Edit, EFI Live, or HPTuners is the way to go.
