Default Errors out the *** hole with autotap

I'm using the AT1 cable and version 2.05 software. I took the box apart and it says AT1 version 1.05. Its the serial version and I'm using the $40 dynex serial to usb converter from best buy. I'm gettin a overflow error when I try and log a run, and everytime I try to view my front o2's it disconnects from the pcm, and if the car is idling it will keep disconnecting until I start driving around then its not a problem. Is there any other software that works with the AT1 interface? Or any way to fix all this?

When you open the scan tool, click edit -> properties. Under the connection tab, select the cable you intend to use.

I tried that.. I was reading through the user manual for efilive scan tool and it says

Cable type Support
AutoTap AT1 V1.x Standard, Scan only
The V7 Scan Tool does not support this interface

If I cant use the V7 is there anyway I can download the V6?

Not sure if V6 is readily available for download. Might try sending another email to Live and ask them where you can get it. I'm sure they will be able to take care of you

If you can swing it, you might consider getting the V7 scan tool and the Flashscan interface (~$250 IIRC). V7 has a lot of nice enhancements over V6, not to mention the FS cable is light years ahead of the ATAP cable (read external inputs).

Phlip,

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to get everything you needed to make your ATAP cable work with EFI Live? My cable is a version 1.01 and I am interested in swapping over to EFIlive. You can PM if you would prefer not to post the info.

I remember a few issues with USB/Serial and VV. I know that the "Edgeport" brand adapter was recommended, but I recall that was for serial to USB.
Have you contacted B&B on this - the makers of Autotap?
Remember the Autotap V1 adaptors do not do Bidirectional communications.
