Default Have a 98 Z28, want to put in a 99-02 computer

Like the title says i have a 98 z28, and i believe the 99-02 computers are better, is this true? I only see hypertech selling a programer for the 98. If it is possible, what do i need to do and what extra parts would i have to buy to make it compatible?

It can be done, but it's not fun. Do a search, there have been a few threads in the past about it. I know the temp gauge operates different, and I think the tach might??? But it's a mess.

the fuel sender is different also, 98's have 0-90 Ohms and 99's+ have 0-250? something like that.

98s can still be tuned with stuff like HP Tuners. 98s just can't accept some of the custom OSs that they have out. its probably about as much work to go form a 98 computer to a 99+ as it is to go to like a BS3

just go with hptuners. if you buy a hypertech you will kick yourself in the butt many times over. handhelds just aren't worth it compared to the suites. go check out hptuners.com . to convert would cost more than you could imagine with all the changes that have to be made. if it was easy there would be a sticky at the top of this thread. good luck.

by the way i have a 98

That or EFILive are two choices that would give you tons of options. EFILive has a free download for you to try it out and see if it is something you want to purchase. It is very addicting. Also, if you purchase the software thru me, you get a Free tune set up for all your mods thru us.

And as always, EFILive does not have a limit on the amount of 97-98 corvettes, and 98 camaros. You can tune as many of them as you would like with no extra licenses needed. Pm me if you have any more questions, ill answer them for you. WWW.EFILive.com

Actually, we do have 2bar solutions available for the 98's as well now.
