+1 for EFI Live. It's like navigating Windows Explorer. Each window has a brief description of what the table does. Great support on the forums here and at their site. Tuning is an ongoing learning experience, so don't be afraid to get started. That way when you really mod your car to all hell, you can tune it yourself.

The initial license is for 2 vehicles. Additional licenses can be purchased for $99 with up to 25 licenses per cable.

EFILive is by far the best LSx tuning suite on the market.

Hey Foff - have you updated your comparison sheet yet?

HP Tuners is definately the choice for you.

It has an easier to use interface in both the editor and scanner, and also gives you more licenses and allows you to tune more types of vehicles with the base purchase.

Here is a comparison of the two products found in the sticky of this forum:

EFI Live does not have LS2 solutions available.

HP Tuners does, and only HP Tuners has 2bar solutions for both the 98 Gen3 based vehicles as well as the 05 GTO, if you ever plan to boost your vehicles.

Would I want the standard or pro version? Both vehicles will be boosted in the future. I wouldn't need the additional credits at this moment. And once I license my vehicle I can do whatever I want whenever I want correct? I won't need to purchase credits in a year to modify my tune for a different intake manifold or cam will I?

Would certainly be alot easier for new users to make a decision if the comparison sheet was kept up to date and if all companies made a demo version available.

You would definately want the MPVI Pro interface.

You would not need to purchase credits up front to tune your vehicles. The 98 will require 2 credits to license, the GTO will require 4. VCM Suite comes with 8 so you'll have 2 remaining to use as you wish, whenever you like. If you decide to use our 2bar or 3bar VCM Enhancements when you boost your vehicles, the 2bar license is 2 credits per vehicle... so if you also 2bar'd both your vehicles, then you could use your 2 remaining credits but would still need to purchase 2 more through our website.

Once you license the vehicle, you can tune it an unlimited number of times.

Hope this helps.

With the Pro HPTuners you can log four extrenal input and output two extrenal signals. Which you can log a wideband to accurately correct your fueling. The Standard can not, that is the only difference.
