Will I need a tune?
I think you will need to disable the abuse mode because the pcm will think its slipping with the new converter and some have to adjust the Misfire tables to correct converter locking/unlocking issues.

Depending on the TC might find you want to bump the line pressure up a little and increase the in gear idle speed some too - my idle wanted to "hunt" sometimes coming to a stop and at low speeds, like in parking lots. Did both and also deleted TM completely on my car - no locking/unlocking issues in my case. Not trying to scare you away, just saying you might need some tuning.
when I had my TCI3500 the ONLY thing I really would've done was change my 2-3 shift pattern at wot because it would hit the rev limiter on that shift without tuning...other then that I had not one single issue & even on the stock tuning went 6 tenths quicker at the track before/after.
or you could consider purchasing tuning software of your own so you don't have to worry about doing 3, 4 or 5 installs at once and can do them at your own pace...setting up things like gear ratios & wot shift points are the easiest & most strait forward part of tuning

When I put my 3400 stall in i didnt really NEED any tuning only problem i ever had was once in a while backing up out of a parking spot it would die but you can change your driving a little to get around it f corse i have tuning softwear so i fixed the problem and didnt have to worry about it but i didnt NEED the tuning its some thing you cand deal with.

I would love to have my own tuning software but clueless on how it is designed to work and I would probably mess it up rather than fixing anything. I am leaning towards a Custom tuned PCM from Nelson performance. I hear that guy can flat *** tune.
with hptuners comprehensive help files, dozens of flash demos & our support forum with over 5000 members now theres usually someone that will help you in your quest. Tuning really isnt that difficult & HPTuners is probably the most user friendly software available today making things that much easier.
