Default 98 model's, loose wire from PCM?

I noticed a purple and white wire sticking out of the PCM about an inch or so but found no other wire that could be broken that would connect to it. What is it? Anyone else have one loose wire hanging out of the PCM? I'll look and see what pin it is tonight but I noticed this last night while looking for the reverse lock-out wire for a T-56.

I'll walk up to the parking lot here in a minute, are the Pin locations on the outside of the PCM where I can see them?

O.k., the wire is broken, I found the other piece of it. It's a brown wire with a white stripe and goes into the bottom left connector looking at the car from the passenger side torwards the front. The one closest to the fender. What is this wire? I wonder if this is the culprit of my O2 sensor throwing a code?

Sounds like the check engine lamp control just guessing.

I guess the best way to repare this is to use a soldering gun and heat shrink, what gage of wire is that? It sure is small, something like a 18 gage maybe?

Carefully pull the plastic connector backshell off of the connector and you will see the wire number assignements on the connector. The blue connector is on top, red on bottom. I would find out what wire it is before I attempted a repair.

From the pin diagram it looks like the only brown and white wire is the camshaft position sensor but wouldn't the car not run if this wire was broken? I'll take the cover off and double check the pin location just to be sure. Thanks for the help!
