spark retard......also spark advance
Hi I have datamaster and for the longest time I hav been having this stumble when i mash the throttle it hesitates stumbles like it wants to die and shakes and does not rev smoothly. But when it is colder it is not as bad. So in datamaster is shows that when I mash the pedal ans it stumbles and shakes, the spark advance drops to zero, and spark retard goes as high as 15* in some cases. when cold it may only get as high as 9*. Is it just a faulty knock sensor or a false knock? Maybe the lt14 knock might fix this?
I do run 93 octane, have headers midlength, exhaust, no cat, intake
Thanks

okay I fixed the iat sensor and moved it back to the intake boot, and now when I unplug the map only the spark retard goes to and stays at zero. If i plug it in I get 1.3 degree at most for retard. Is it the map sensor that is cauing the 1.3 degree?
Thanks

Does your datamaster let you see what the source of retard is?
With HPTuners on a LS1 I can see knock retard, burst knock retard,
IAT/ECT advance adders and some others. I think with the MAP out
you are in a "limp home" mode and a lot of the fancier things are
sitting it out.
What did you do for tuning after deleting EGR? On EGR cars I see a
spark adder table that you sure don't want active, without the EGR
diluting the charge. Retard may just be a reaction to excessive
(for the current state of the motor) spark advance being pushed.
Also EGR affects mixture, if you see a "divot" in the VE table that
may be accounting for EGR active region and misfueling you; I
have not looked at LT1 tunes though. Just food for thought.

no datamaster doesnt let you know burst knock iat advance or nothing like you mentioned. The egr I never did any tuning at all. I just deleted the code when it came up and now it does not show a code. And no other codes also.
