Default tuning questions

What should I expect to see my AFR set at with my mods? I recently had my car tuned .. with my other cam set-up and tune, I never smelled my converters. Now I do (different tuner) and new H/C set-up. My AFR settings are now about 13.5. They were 13.2 before.

Also .. how does the gear ratio you have affect your dyno numbers?

At WOT you want about 12.8 to 13.0.....any more than that and you are too lean.

When I asked my tuner about that (being so lean) .. he said because I have a full catted exhaust. Could this, in any way, be why I'm getting converter smell?

Are you getting the smell all the time like during idle and normal driving? The PCm will maintain 14.7 AFR during idle and part throttle conditions.

I can only notice it when at idle.

Because I know running the LS1 lean will be the death of it so .. I just want to make certain everything is as it should be.

You need to find out more info from your tuner...

Did he set you up with an open loop tune?
If not, is he noticing any problems with the NBO2 sensors?
How is he adding in more fuel (which tables)?
Does he think your injectors are maxed out?
Also, was your AFR recorded at the tailpipe? If so, I'd highly recommend getting a WBO2 for your car and have it installed before one of the cats. I've found (at least in my climate/altitude) that these cars don't make a whole lot more power when the AFR is higher than 12.5~12.8. Running it leaner than that is just adding unnecessary stress on the motor...

Wow ... I'm gonna' need a pencil

I have 42lb injectors .. he said they were @ 50%

AFR was recorded at the tailpipe.

As to the rest of your questions .. I'll have to find out.

So, is there any reason (because of the converters) to be running so lean?

How big is siad camshaft ??? big camshafts will often waste a catalytic converter if you don't idle them very very rich. You cannot derive AFR behind a catalytic converter. He should have gotten the data from in front of the cat's with the upstream 02 sensor bungs. Wether or not your catalytic converters can survive this camshaft is the real question. I am betting they won't. What type of emissions testing do they have where you are ?

It's the F13 on a 112LSA.

Im 240 testing ?? yikes is right. you are going to flunk that test. From what i know of that camshaft sounds like your tune is very questionable.
