where to start and what to start with? well i an thinking of buying my own tuning software and was wanting some feed back. I am intrested in knowing which is better suited for beginners and is ther that much diffrence between the capabilities of efilive or hptuner?

Flip a coin. I use HPT, but it seems that both companies are trying to "keep up with the joneses" so to speak. This sort of competition helps all of us end users. Just remember that tools are only as good as the person wielding them, so tune in small steps, and note what difference your changes make. It isn't very hard to tune a motor, but it is even easier to blow it by ignoring your sensors.

Both are fantastic tuning solutions. I use EFIlive and here are the top three reasons I bought it:
