Default Quick tuning question

I'm new to everything about LS1's, so I'm learning little by little. My question: Can a bad tune affect the performance of the 4L60E? The guy I bought my car from said it has HP Tuners on it and his roomate has tuned it a couple of times. Now, two months later, the "service engine" light is on and the tranny is not shifting right. The tranny has felt strong the whole time and this happened from one second to the other. Does it need to be tuned again?

Of course a bad tune can screw things up, but it can also be a grey area as well...If your talking about the 98 in your sig your talking about a near 10 year old car/tranny so it could also just be age & wear.

FWIW 98's have the least amount of TM of all the years so unless the tuner did something nuts with the pressure settings its probably not in the tune IMO.

Yes it is the 98 Formula. After the light came on it started shifting like crap then a little while ago on the freeway the light turned off and all was fine it pulled as it did before, good. And now the light is back on and I'm back to the same problem.

again, it could be in the tune, but in all likelyhood its probably a combination of 300hp to a 4l60e for 10 years + tuning + abuse + who knows how well the tranny was taken care of ie fluid changes=the end of the tranny. Would be good if you found out the code though...could just be a solenoid or something

The codes given were: P0157, P0137, P0131, & P0151. O2 Sensors. What does this mean?

Low voltage for all 4 o2 sensors...electrical problem maybe? doubt all 4 would throw the EXACT same code otherwise.

Eng Sens fuse under the hood. It powers all 4 O2s and the MAF. If you are losing power to the MAF, your transmission will not shift right also.

All fuses are good, none are burned.

Make sure you are getting 12V to the fuse with the key on. Use a meter or a test light. Check for 12V on the pink wire going to the MAF. http://www.gearchatter.com/si/218496.png Check for 12V on the pink wires going to the O2 sensors. http://www.gearchatter.com/si/218508.png
