Default Can I have your tune? :)

I need an hptuner tune flash for a 98 Automatic LS1 w/ 3.73 gears. The tranny needs to have the stock tune, no TQ mods or shiting changes.

If you have it I may just paypal you something.

Let me know via PM! Thanks

Or you can just buy my Hypertech tuner which will make those changes for you.

I have one specifically for '97-'98 LS1

did you check the HP Tuners Repository? you're basically asking for a stock file setup for 3.73 gears..... i'm sure there are files there that are at least stock tune (to change to 3.73 is not very difficult)

Also it is NOT reccomended you flash anyone elses file into your PCM (especially 98s... 98s are finicky)

Yeah I checked in repository, nada, I just need one to verify my trasmission settings mostly. HPTuners give gear tuning instructions for 99+ vehicles though I am pretty sure you divide the gear ratio into the tire height...right? Mine came out to 6.97...that's with 255 50 16's and 3.7.3 gears.

I want someones file so I can verify a few things with mine. I've heard flashing another is bad and I wasn't going to try it, thanks for the heads up though.

edit: I just opened a '01 tune in HPTuners and the gear/tranny scaling option is way easier I guess the 98's don't do calc's themselves? wtf?

yup...alot of things are done differently in 98's...not to mention different resolution for many tables as compared to later 99+ files.

Thank you! It has already helped me figure out a few things!!!

What size tires were programmed into that tune? Don't you divide tire height by gear ratio?

GM uses either 24.91 or 24.94 in the later calibrations that list the tire height separate. I use either one of those. They both round to the 6.68 close enough.
