Yes.
It doesn't matter though. MS only provides updates for any given OS for so many years. They don't update 95 98 anymore. The only reason they still update 2000 is cause so many schools/businesses have it. I am sure 2000 won't get updates too much longer. Times change.

Forgot to mention, I am wanting to buy a laptop asap! I plan on buying the cheapest one I can find brand new cause I do most of my work on a desk top and do not have much use for a laptop. Is there anything in particular I would need to upgrade on the laptop?
Dell has some laptops still available with XP. Would I be better off with one of them?

Windows now comes in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions. The 64 bit version requires completely new software for almost all applications that do anything out of the ordinary (personal experience). It is also more expensive and more difficult to find. If you go into the store or on-line, it is the 32 bit version that is the default. Whether you call it XP, XP Media Edition, Vista, it is all Windows. Bill just likes to change the names so he can charge money again.
Plan to pay about $400 for a widescreen laptop with an Athlon CPU, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB hdd, DVD drive, and USB 2.0. It will be all you need for just about anything, including working on your car. I have a Compaq that meets these specs and it is great. You can spend more if you want, but it is not required.

In my opinion, HP has the best laptops. Every Dell I have had required mutiple harddrives (3) and keyboards (2) just to last a couple of years. I left the battery recall off, too. Heh. Dell was crap circa 2002-2003. I got more class-action lawsuit papers from owning a Dell Laptop than any other product I have ever owned. Plus, don't say I was a bad owner if so many people were suing over the same product. No offense, wait4me.
I would go to Staples to buy one cause at least they have 1-2 semi-business oriented PCs and you can take it there if you run into trouble. Or buy used if you trust it.
You know half the laptops today come with 17'' screens and TV tuners...eats the battery and defeats the point of having one.
Seriously, try and find a small screened, low option laptop because there is no replacement for a desktop anyways and why get something expensive if your just going to tune.
