Default P0327 Knock sensor 1 circuit low input bank 1

I started getting this code a few day after I detalied my under carriage and engine. Does anyone know exactly what the problem might be. My guess is water on the knock sensor. Any help is appreciated.

Water got in the knock sensors and caused them to fritz out. They enter between the valley cover and the bottom of the intake mainfold. There's foam in between and the balance coolant line along with the wires going to the knock sensors.

This happened to me last year. Slight rust on one of the knock sensors. Replaced the front one, the rear one went out and set off the SES again...had to replace the rear one this time.

Bank 1 is the front knock sensor. I suggest you replace both of them. They cost $40 each.

Gonna have to remove the intake mainfold to get access to both knock sensors.

Becareful of the oil pressure sensor in the back of the engine...most likey you will break off the plastic sending unit off the metal fitting.
I can tell you that brake booster vaccum hose is a b!tch to get to. Best way is to unplug it from the brake booster and feed it through the back and have it come out with the intake mainfold.

Then use pilers to release the clip from the knock sensors and use a big socket to unscrew them out. Install new ones and reinstall everything.

Everything is in detail at this link..Just go up to where the knock sensors are being removed by a wrench.

What he said..............I just got through replacing my sensors. The front was completly covered with rust. It might not be a bad idea to go ahead and get the wiring harness while you are at it. Mine was looking bad.

When you put the rubber caps back on, use some RTV around the edge so water doesn't get in again.
