Default Tunercat for LS1?

Met a guy offering to tune my car with Tunercat. Paid $80 for the file and took it over last weekend and seemed like a lot of the stuff was different from what he was used to working with - he has an LT1 car. When I did a search on here it seems like all the threads relating to Tunercat are in LT1 forums. Is there a reason this program is more suited to that application? Are there specific problems with using this program on LS1 cars?

it works for the ls1 cars, but you cannot buy it anymore, it is now sold through jet as they dynamic spectrum tuner.

Yeah - he got the file and all - My question was really more along the lines of how useful this program is for this car. I don't really seem to see anyone else using this tuner for LS1's and was just wondering why?

I've used it on LS1 cars, and it works. If the tuner knows what he's doing it will give the same results as the other tuning options.

That being said, it simply isn't anywhere near as easy to navigate as HPT (I haven't used EFI Live).

I have used tuner cats many times works fine for tuning LS1 cars. The main resons you dont see people using it are it wasnt out that long before it got bought by jet performance, it isnt really advertised at all, and its slower in the flashing and reading process than efi live or hpt.

Play around with TunerCats stuff for early LT1 and L98 stuff. It's easy enough to work with, not really that different than any of the other programs for other applications...HPTuners, SCT, LT1 Edit... just gotta figure out where to go to get to what you're trying to do. Haven't used it on LS1's though. I like the TunerCats stuff better than LT1 Edit though for that OS, and the real time emulation is fun stuff.

here's a couple good tuner cat sites for OBD2
http://www.monodax.com/forums/forums.php

tuner cat is still available at moates .net, you have to buy a roadrunner pcm. but like tuner said:
the real time emulation is fun stuff.
