mustang dyno questions.
my car was dynoed on a mustang dyno and the horsepower it said sucked, i got 383rwhp and 383 torque with gtp stage 2 heads and 226,591, 112 cam. with the 224 thunder cam with no heads i got more than this!a friend dynoed his also with all the free mods and it said he had 262rwhp. this dyno has to be atleast 40 to 50 horse off. the owner told me these are the most accurat dynoes made. anybody tell me about this, thanx.

Re: mustang dyno questions.
It's true
Have you run the car since you had it on the dyno, and do you have an accurate weight for the car? That's more representative of the actual power.
On a dynojet you can play many "tricks" to be part of the dyno queen crowd, but a mustang dyno actually MEASURES torque.

the weight he put in was the car( 3550) and me ( 250) 3800lbs. so maybe he should have left my weight out of there? i guarentee i have more horse than the cammed car before!

Re: mustang dyno questions.
I meant what does you car actually weigh, and what MPH in the 1/4. That's what will correlate the dyno numbers.
I personally have watched a 380+ RWHP stage 2 HC 6 speed (on a mustang dyno)
Runs mid to low 11's at 118'ish.
If you want high dyno numbers use a dynojet, if you want _REAL_ numbers that will match your MPH use a _REAL_ dyno

Re: mustang dyno questions.
I feel your pain. the first time i dyno'd was on a mustang and it showed 274 rwhp. later same car same mods ran 321 rwhp on a dynojet. Why do you think Harlan has "on a mustang dyno" in his sig imagine what he would be on a dynojet. Did you make a quarter mile pass on the dyno?

Re: mustang dyno questions.
As I mentioned on another thread there was a writeup comparing both dynos (dynojet vs Mustang).
They had results from both dynos and actual track estimates of the power put down by the same car.
Just like Harlan said. If you want nice numbers use a dynojet if you want ACTUAL power use a mustang.
Oh and when they compared the Dynos vs actual track results the Mustang was almost dead on throughout the whole RPM band. Was offset by a few HP/TQ.
