Default My diagnostics port doesn't work??!!!

So my SES light came on & I was gonna hook up a friends scan tool & the diagnostics port doesn't work! WTF?? I checked fuses & didn't come up with anything. Any of you guys ever have this happen?

The problem isn't the scan tool because I plugged it into my 99 s-10 & it works perfect.

Any ideas??

ahaa! The cig lighter fuse. I didn't think about the two being connected. As a matter of fact, even though I don't smoke I checked to see if the cig lighter worked after I bought the car, just for grins, or if I wanted to plug a phone charger in, etc & it doesn't work.

I'll check that fuse tonight. I checked all the ecm/pcm fuses, but not the cig lighter. I also pulled the plug & checked the back to make sure the wires are all good.

Thanks a million guys. I hope that's the issue. Of course I was thinking the worst.

A new pcm might fix your obd2 port.

Man, don't say that ....... although it would give me an excuse to upgrade to a 99 up pcm.
