Default cheapest method for adjusting fan turn on?

I am not ready to buy LS1 edit just yet. What are my options for adjusting the fan turn on point from the PCM. I understand I can hard wire it with a relay but I am looking for the cheapest method to modify the PCM. Thanks.

Pay someone with an unlimited license copy of LS1 Edit to set the fan temps for you. Most "tuners" will do these type of changes for a moderate fee ($50 - $100). For the cheapest way to do this you need to find someone locally.

You can always get a manual fan switch for something like $70. THen you can control the fan at-will. The downside is that I hear it will throw a code if you cycle the fans twice in one igition cycle or if you turn the car on with the fan switch on.

Heck, for $15.00 you can make your own switch!

I installed a manual switch for ten dollars. It was simple and allows me to cool down my car to any temp I want really because I have control of the high speed and low speed fans. As for the SES light, it only comes on when the car is started with the fans on. Msg me if you want details.

The SLP Fan Switch works great. I can control the low-high fans whenever I want.

I am attempting to do the high speed fan mod as listing in the lower portion of this link under "addendum to the regular fan mod". I have the small green and blue wires together with a switch in the wire for activation. The high speed fans do not come on.

The regular fan mod, low speed fans work fine, but not the high speed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Big thanks to Matt Kilkenny!

I had the low speed fan switch already installed according to Ron Larson's write up. His last portion, to have the fans on high speed did not work for me. Matt emailed me with the way he installed his using the passenger side connector method. This worked!

Now I can turn both low speed fans on with my original switch. I can turn on the passenger side only fan to high speed, drivers side off with my high speed switch on, low speed switch off. Or I can turn on both fans to high speed with both switches on. Kinda neat!
