Default LC1 wiring

Searched but didn't really find a conclusive answer. When wiring in the LC1, the blue wire (heater ground), can I run that to an old O2 sensor plug and put it in the "C" slot? Here is a reference of letters on the plug, FWIW.

http://www.audiohelix.com/tuning-documents/lc1/lc1.htm

Also, if that's the case, can I just run the red 12V switched wire to the D slot? If my assumption on letters and what they do are WRONG please tell me. I think I've finally got this, I have the sensor routed and ready to calibrate, just need to run these wires then I'm all set. If my question is unclear LMK I'll try and reword. Thanks.

When I wired mine, the grounds went to the passenger side head, and the switched 12V source came from the driver's side fuse panel which has a slot dedicated for that power source (as depicted in your owner's manual). As long as you can verify the O2 sensor wires do what they're supposed to do, then you could probably use those, but it wouldn't be my first choice since I think there are better ways of doing it (although not as convenient).

The LC-1 is very sensitive to its power and ground sources...so I made extra sure to give it a fighting chance by finding the best power and grounds I could.

Thank you. BTW right now the 12V is going to the panel, I can't believe GM did that for us. I see a lot of guys ground it on the motor, but is grounding it to the chassis equally as acceptable? Thanks.

I think the PCM is grounded to the engine, and I'm almost certain that the OBD-II port has a ground that ends up at the engine as well...I wanted my HPT interface and the LC-1 to share a common ground, and the HPT interface grounds itself through the OBD-II port, and eventually to the engine. That was my reasoning at the time, but it has been a long time since I messed with the wiring or even read about it. Could be wrong, but when I look at my XD-1 gauge and what HPTuners is saying, they agree with each other 100%, and that wasn't always the case.

The most important thing you can do if you are logging the LC-1 through an interface of some sort is to make sure the Innovate software and your tuning software agree on what the AFR is. As long as they both agree (and the LC-1 works without a hiccup), it doesn't matter where you have it wired.

I have it going to go through EFI Live. Good info and your help is appreciated. I will go out and have a look at it again after I eat.

I hooked both of my LC-1's up through the stock O2 sensor plugs. I put the heater ground, and power to the O2 sensor on each side, and then grounded the white/green and the white (soldered together) on the other one to the ground in the back of my cig lighter (which i don't use). Works fine from my end. Good luck!

Using the stock connectors is the easiest route. Just make sure you match the colours on the wires - A, B, C & D in the attached diagram are looking along the wire, not into the face of the connector - if that's not clear just check.

HP Tuners get very upset if you route a heater ground through their MPVI, so that attached worked for me. One diagram before connecting to scanning tool, one diagram after connecting to scanning tool.

Good luck.
