Problem with HP Scanner
I have finished wiring my wideband 0-5Vdc output into my EGR input to the PCM. I am trying to create my custom PID to log my AFR. Here's where I am:
1. Right clicked on Chart Display and went to Chart Settings
2. I expanded the tree (clicked the '+') on 'Chart 2' and clicked on 'undefined'
3. I then clicked on PID and it brings up the Parameter List
4. Then clicked on 'User Defined' ... Then 'Configure User Defined'
5. It opens a window 'Configure User Defined Parameters'
6. I chose #4 since it is the next one open.
7. I entered the following info:
Name: AFR - Phil
Abbrv: AFR
Sensor: Volts
Units: afr
Function: [PID.2811]*3.008+7.35 (using LC-1 by Innovate)
8. Here's where I'm stuck.... The only way to get out of the 'Configure User Defined Parameters' window is to hit the 'X' in the top right.
9. When I exit, I cannot find my user defined PID to click on. If I'm thinking correctly it should be right below 'Air Fuel Ratio Error' which is number 3 in the list.
If anyone has any idea what I'm doing wrong, please help!! I'm so close I can feel it, but this is driving me crazy !! Thanks in advance!

When I get done with a custom PID I always click the PID above it after im done to make sure it stays there before i X out and it seems to save it everytime. Then again ive never tried it any other way so i dunno.
P.S.- This is how your filter string should look too.
[PID.2811]/0.332446808510638+7.35
Not necessary to carry out 0.332446808510638 that far but i wanted the exact number just for piece of mind.

Thanks everyone for your help... Jimmy was right. When I saved the config, exited out of the VCM scanner and came back in, it was there. Little things like that can make a man loose his sanity!! It now works great.. Now on to working on the VE table and MAF calibration. Thanks again for the help.
