Default Can someone w/HPtuners view my tune?

My buddy has been tuning my cam only bolt on car, with HPtuners,we were having some low load problems, but I got the o2s to read correct and most of that was solved...

I wanted to make sure that the tune looked good everywhere else,as in the daily driving stuff is VERY good now,but in WOT the car feels like a dog, until around 4k rpms..

The tune files are on the HP tuners site so I cant view them, but I believe you guys with tuners can? If so here is the link http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16258
If not I will try to get him to post them somehow..

I know the cam should be a little soft in the lower rpms, but I want to see if there is anyway to get more out of it... THANKS

At 4K fueling switches over fully to the MAF, though at steady state WOT it's there sooner. Assuming you are wideband tuning, set PE to a constant like 12.4, and tune the MAF. Once the MAF is set you will be able to command the AFR you want in PE.

your idle logs do not contain IAC? What are your IAC counts at warm/hot idle with the fans off? (I ask fans off because you add a lot of air when the fans are on and this will cause the IAC to open up a good bit)

I'll see if I can get him to post the IAC counts.. He has fixed all the low load and idle stuff though,I was just wondering if the rest of the tune looked good.

to me it looks ok with what is shown. Might up the max tq to 650 instead of 350 though. just something I always do to make sure all tq managment is gone.

here are some more scans. I don't have a wideband that will easily switch between vehicles, so I'm having to guess a little using the narrowbands.

what do you guys think of the map sensor readings at wot. On my v6 car they stay at 100-105kpa but his seem to start out around 98kpa and decrease to around 95kpa.

Thanks,Daniel..
Like I said the off idle and part throttle performance is awesome, just seems to be really soft in the mid range at WOT.I just want to know if we could get a little more out of it with the tune.

Here's the file he has now just in case you guys aren't signed up on the hptuners board.

This is the first cammed ls1 I've tuned and I'd appreciate your input.

*edit* This file is the one that was used in the wot4.hpl

you really should post your scan, tune, and scanner config file so we have all the info to look at it.

The scan and tune file have already been posted. I uploaded the config file in the hptuners link.

its really hard to tell without a wideband... but one minor change i can advise, is fix your stoich afr... should be 14.681, not 14.62. some cars(mine did) came like this from the factory. also, your commanded afr at WOT of 13.2 you might want to richen up a bit, even 13.1 might be pushing it IMO, but i run conservative tunes. you could always try upping the timing until knock kicks in until 4k to help out that "dog" feeling down low.

i dont think im a good enough tuner to help you out, without having a wideband.

Thats cool man, at least your giving me some input and I do appreciate it.

I thought 30* was pushing it, but I haven't had any problems with kr kicking in at all really. I'll try bumping the mid range timing some more and see what happens.

I don't like trusting the narrowbands, but I'm guessing the afr is in the mid to high 12's. The maf seems to be a little rich. I'll get to mess with it more this weekend and try to clean it up.

i have to tell you, that when comparing a wideband readout to the stock sensors... it really varies. i tuned my old t/a by the LTFT method, and it ran awsome... but after seeing what some of the LTFT's correspond to and the AFR... it is nothing more then guesswork. pick yourself up a cheap wideband, it will make your life much easier.

and some cars like more timing... my car personally i do not think likes timing. it gets a couple degrees here and there of KR... but that could also be my exhaust note pissing off the sensor... i dont know. gonna wait and see how my cam comes back, ill be tuning this weekend... hopefully.

I have one on my car, but it isn't easily transferred to another car. Hopefully we'll be able to put his car on the dyno with a wideband.
