HP Tuners here, was a user for ~3 years before being hired by them as their support tech and couldn't be happier with our software.

Some of the main advantages are going to be the pricing structure, Real Time tuning using the stock pcm, and larger supported vehicle base including Ford support in addition to only GM.

You can also check out the comparison link in the sticky at the top of this section which points out some of the major features

If you have any questions about our software/hardware or any of its features shoot me an email at bill at hptuners.com and I'll be more than happy to answer them directly.

Thanks,
Bill

I use HPTuners. I can't imagine needing any more tuning ability than it gives me.

If you want, you can download the EFILive software and try it out (it comes with real world "sample" tunes and logs, you don't need a cable to view them): http://www.efilive.com/download.aspx

I am relatively new to it as well. I'm using EFI Live and happy with it. There is a pretty good learning curve with any of them but I don't think you would go wrong with EFI or HP from what I have read.

I like hptuners, but I've never tried efi live so I can't honestly say which one is better.

EFILive combined with the Moates RoadRunner
is the only way to tune in real time.

I would need to disagree with you there, our Real Time tuning solution works out very well for our customers at little or no extra cost.

Thankfully everyone is entitled to their opinion and that is yours.

You can view a short clip of how easy ours is to apply & get started with by viewing the demo here http://www.thetuningdoctor.com/HPTun...stomsized.html

Car to offer the WHY so your post gives meaning to the original question?

Hp Tuner Pro myself hands down! I like the ease of use. Forum, Books, and classes they have both in person and by home study.

HP Tuners Pro. They all do what you need, just have to figure out which interface you like the best for the money. HPT gave me RTT at a much more affordable and reasonable price for what I wanted.

Plus, I got tired of reading comments like this...

...and at that time, had more information about HPT than EFI Live, so I stopped my search and made my decision. I certainly don't regret it one bit.

I didn't want to hear which one was better, same as this poster, I wanted to know why people preferred one over the other. Stating that your opinion is that it is better because you found x,y,z to be easier to use or a more powerful tool is a good and valid reason. It is much different than saying x,y,z is just plain better and the only choice if you want to do things right.

Sorry for using you as an example vaticano. I understand where you're coming from. I just think people need to start wording things better and quit getting their panties in a bunch. End

It basically comes down to how much do you value individual parts of each program, and how much are you willing to spend for each of them. If you think the roadrunner is worth the money for what it gives you, then that makes it an easy choice. But, if you want RTT, and can't afford to spend that much, HPT is definitely the way to go. I highly recommend the pro if you get HPT.

You can call me directly if you have any questions regarding software also. We offer FREE training in person with workshop sales, so i come to you, set you up, show you all the secrets there are and make your tuning and questions when transistioning to a new type of programming platform.

Plus i always offer 100% free phone and email tech support to all the efilive shops so you always have a place to quickly get your questions answered.

Time is money and the faster and more accurate you are the better..

Plus to just get thrown into new software from anyone is a very difficult process and takes up alot of your personal time to get aquainted with it. I help you get over that learning process and make your tuning more productive..

Another EFILive vote here. Without it I wouldn't be able to swap my 98 pcm for a 02.
